Arriving at and Departing from Heathrow
One of the world’s busiest and most sophisticated airports, handling more international passengers than any other, London Heathrow (LHR) is 15 miles to the west of central London. 90 airlines serve 183 destinations from its four terminals.By Rail

The Heathrow Express is the quickest way into central London. Trains leave Heathrow airport from approximately 0500 to 2330. Standard fares are £12 single and £23 return. Journey time is 15-20 minutes and the service is non-stop to London Paddington station. The Heathrow Express calls at both Terminal 1, 2, 3 and Terminal 4 stations.   • By Underground

The Piccadilly line connects Heathrow airport to central London and the rest of the underground system. There are trains every few minutes from approximately 0500 (0550 Sundays) to 2345 (2250 Sundays). A single ticket into central London (Zone 1) costs £3.60. Journey time to Piccadilly Circus is about 50 minutes. There are two underground stations at Heathrow Airport; Terminal 1,2,3 and Terminal 4.

Airbus A2 goes to King's Cross Station, with stops at Notting Hill Gate, Bayswater Road, Marble Arch, Marylebone Road, Euston and Russell Square. During the night the N97 runs every 30 minutes to central London (Trafalgar Square).

  • By Taxi

There are usually black cabs queuing for customers at Heathrow airport. The cost of the cab is metered and displayed inside the cab. Extra charges, such as evening and weekend journeys are also shown here. Cab drivers expect to be tipped about 10% of the fare.

Drivers are not obliged to accept a hiring of over six miles or 20 miles for a journey from Heathrow airport, but if they do, and the journey is wholly within the London area, the fare payable is as shown on the meter. If a driver accepts a hiring to a destination outside the Greater London area, the fare becomes negotiable and should be agreed beforehand. Arriving at and Departing from Gatwick
London Gatwick (LGW), second largest airport in the UK, is the seventh busiest international airport in the world. Handling 30 million passengers every year on behalf of 85 airlines flying to 209 destinations, the airport is 28 miles south of London.

  • By Rail

Gatwick Express is the quickest way into central London. Trains leave Gatwick Airport from 0435 to 0135. At peak times they run every 15 minutes (from 0605 to 2005) and every 30 minutes of peak (from 0435 to 0605 and from 2005 to 0135). Standard fares are £11 single and £21 return. Journey time is 30 minutes and the service is non-stop to Victoria station. Tickets can be booked online at www.gatwickexpress.co.uk.

You can also get the Thameslink train to London Bridge, Blackfriars and King’s Cross stations (and beyond to Luton and Bedford). Trains leave approximately every 30 minutes. Standard fares are £9.80 adult single children aged 5-15 years travel half price. Journey time to London Bridge is 40 minutes. Gatwick Airport station is in the south terminal and linked to other parts by escalators and lifts. A transit shuttle runs continually between the south and north terminals.

Airbus A5 goes to Victoria Coach Station, with stops at Hooley, Coulsdon, Wallington, Mitcham, Streatham, Stockwell and Pimlico. Journey time is one hour and 30 minutes.

Arriving at and Departing from Stansted
London Stansted (STN) is London's third international gateway and one of the fastest growing airports in Europe. It is home to many of the UK's low-cost airlines, serving mostly European and Mediterranean destinations. 16 million passengers choose Stansted every year to connect with 30 different airlines. The airport is 35 miles to the North-East of London.

  • By Rail

Stansted Express is the quickest way into central London. Trains leave Stansted Airport from 0600 to 2359. At peak times they run every 15 minutes (from 0800 to 1700 Monday to Friday) and every 30 minutes off peak (early morning, evenings and Saturday and Sunday). Standard fares are £13 single and £21 for an open return (valid for one calendar month). Children aged 5-15 years travel half price.

Standard journey time is 41 minutes and trains stop at Tottenham Hale station and terminates at Liverpool Street station in central London. You can also get a national rail service which stops at main stations between Stansted Airport and Liverpool Street. Please Note
Due to engineering work to install new signalling equipment on the West Anglia line, the Stansted Express train service between Liverpool Street and Stansted Airport is substituted by a non-stop express coach service on Sundays until further notice. Coaches depart from Liverpool Street every five to ten minutes between 0430-2300, and from Stansted Airport between 0500-2400, taking 90 mins in each direction. Passengers should be advised to allow additional time for their journey.

Arriving / Departing from London/Luton Airport
London Luton Airport (LTN) is one of the UK's fastest growing airports with passenger numbers up from 1.9 million in 1995/96 to 6.5 million in 2001. Of those passengers, 74 per cent are on scheduled services, many of which are provided by low-cost airlines. Luton Airport is 35 miles north west of LondonBy Rail

Thameslink operates regular services to stations including King’s Cross, Farringdon, London Bridge and Blackfriars in central London, and beyond to Brighton. Trains leave Luton airport from approximately 0700 to 2200 Monday to Friday and 0900 to 2000 on Sunday. Journey time is 25-35 minutes. A standard single fare is £9.50 and return fares start from £16.80, valid for one month. A regular shuttle bus links the airport to Luton Airport Parkway rail station in around five minutes.

Arriving at and Departing from City Airport
London City Airport (LCY) is situated approximately 6 miles east of Central London (and just 3 miles from Canary Wharf) and can be accessed by taxi or Underground/DLR. Its single terminal and short runway handled 1.6 million passengers – on short-haul flights – in 2002.By Underground/DLR

Take the Jubilee Line or Docklands Light Railway (from Bank or Tower Gateway) to Canning Town and connect with the airport's green shuttle bus. Journey time is just five minutes from Canning Town to the airport and the bus runs at 10 minute intervals. The shuttlebus costs £2.50 for adults and £1 for children.
